Two-dimensional Nanosheets and Nanosheet-Based Materials: Synthesis, Characterization, Functionalization and Applications (#95)

Two-dimensional nanosheets and nanosheet-based materials have attracted considerable interest in electronic, catalytic, optical, magnetic, energy and biomedical applications. Despite the wealth of intriguing properties and phenomena in nanosheet related areas, the creation of novel nanosheets with target functionalities still remains elusive. Additionally, the controllable formation of self-assembled nanostructures from nanosheet-based components on long-range ordered nanostructured materials is another challenge, together with developing and understanding of the collective properties of such nanosheet assemblies. We propose a session on the synthesis and applications of 2D nanosheets and nanosheet-based materials. This symposium aims to highlight the breakthrough, progress, and challenge in the studies of 2D nanomaterials. Topics include, but are not limited to: (1) Synthesis of transition metal dichalcogenide-based materials; (2) Synthesis of other 2D nanomaterials; (3) Hybrid materials consisting of 2D nanomaterials and functional materials; and (4) Various applications of 2D nanomaterials in clean energy, environment, sensing, nanodevices, medicine, biology, etc.
