Chemistry of Integrated Water Treatment Systems for Halogenated Organics and Long-lived Radionuclides (#454)

Conventional water and wastewater treatment systems have been doing wonderful jobs for the treatment of widely-known organic and inorganic contaminants. Recent industrial innovations have produced useful emerging chemicals but they can seriously affect human health and living lives. They cannot be easily treated by the conventional systems either. The symposium covers novel treatment technologies to effectively and selectively treat such recalcitrant halogenated organic chemicals and radioactive nuclides.
