Advances in Phosphorus Chemistry: Materials, Reactivity at Phosphorus, and Synthesis (#226)

This symposium highlights the chemical transformations of phosphorus compounds and applications of such molecules materials science applications. Though phosphines are ubiquitous ligands for transition metals, this element is capable of its own interesting stoichiometric and catalytic chemistry as well as imparting unique properties to materials. Such transformations and organophosphine products are of interest from both a fundamental standpoint as well as for applied chemistry. This symposium moves from phosphorus containing materials to establish the importance of applied phosphorus chemistry to novel transformations mediated by organophosphine followed by exploration reactivities that helps produce unique and valuable phosphines.
