Theory and Computation for Efficient Utilization of Energy and Resources (#163)
Theory and simulation can provide atomic level understanding of the understanding of the underlying physics and chemistry that govern the energy conversion and resource utilization processes. This symposium provides a forum to showcase new development in theory as well as new applications of simulation in areas such as photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, catalysts and catalytic processes for synthesizing fuels and platform chemicals from renewable sources, etc. Topics include but are not limited to: 1) Theory and Computational method development; 2) Computational catalysis for methane and CO2 utilization; 3) Computational study of artificial photosynthesis; 4) Computational photocatalysis; 5) Computational electrocatalysis; 6) Computational study of energy storage, including hydrogen storage, battery chemistry; 7) Theory-guided materials design for efficient utilization of resources.
