New Green Techniques for Medicinal Chemistry (#148)

Due to the great advances in the methods for synthesizing organic compounds of biological interest, medicinal chemists are no longer only concerned with whether or not
a particular target molecule can be synthesized. Nowadays the question of how to synthesize a particular compound in the most environmentally friendly/benign manner possible can also enter into the planning process when the synthesis of potential medicines is mapped out. This symposium will feature some of the recent highlights regarding environmentally friendly organic synthesis techniques that can be applied in the context of medicinal chemistry presented by both academic and industrial speakers.
