The Chemical Sciences must play a significant role in the breakthroughs necessary to achieve new materials and novel approaches to store sufficient hydrogen on-board fuel cell powered vehicles to enable the transition form an energy economy based on petroleum to an energy economy based up clean burning hydrogen. This symposium will provide a forum for scientists from the Pacific Rim to share and learn of recent progress and advances in research on materials for hydrogen storage. The symposium topics will include contributions from computational and experimental scientists with a goal to initiate discussions on the critical challenges that are being addressed to meet the challenges of high density storage of hydrogen in condensed phases. |
