The aim of this symposium is to provide a forum for researchers to communicate their latest achievements and discoveries in functional organo-main group compounds. The focus of the symposium will be on recent developments and new directions in organoboron, organosilicon and organophosphorus research, especially their photophysical and photochemical properties and their applications in optoelectronic and energy storage materials and devices. Organo-main group chemistry is becoming a highly inter-disciplinary research area and attracts researchers from organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and materials chemistry. This symposium will have about 20 invited speakers to present their work on different aspects of modern organoboron, organosilicon and organophosphorus material chemistry, including polymeric/supramolecular systems, sensors, optoelectronic materials, photochemical reactions, molecular hydrogen activation/storage, metal-containing organoboron and organosilicon compounds and their photophysical and photochemical properties.
