This symposium will highlight recent chemical advances in the development of radiopharmaceuticals for use in targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) of human diseases, particularly cancer. Chemistry involving all types of therapeutic radionuclides; beta-, alpha- or Auger-emitters, will be included. General topics to be covered in the symposium are; therapeutic radionuclide preparation / purification, chemistry of chelation or bonding of the radionuclide to carrier molecules, modification/engineering of carrier molecules for optimal disease targeting/pharmacokinetics, novel disease targeting approaches, and preclinical therapy studies of newly developed radiopharmaceuticals. |
