So many organic compounds hazardous to human and environmental health now exist - and must be measured at exceedingly low detection limits - that laboratories are now becoming overloaded. This symposium will present the latest chromatographic, instrumental, and related techniques for getting the most information from environmental samples of all types. Leading edge instrumentation and techniques such as gas chromatography-Fourier transform mass spectrometry, time-of-flight mass spectrometry, UHPLC-mass spectrometry, multidimensional chromatography, bioanalytical screening and data analysis will be highlighted. Compound classes of current and emerging concern including dioxins/furans, brominated flame retardants, pharmaceuticals, halogenated pesticides, and many others will be discussed.
