Atmospheric aerosol particles affect many environmental issues including health effects, air quality and pollution, visibility, climate forcing at regional and global scales. Understanding the environmental impact of aerosols relies on the fundamental knowledge of the relationship between their molecular composition and their chemical and physical properties. This symposium will cover recent advances in the cross-disciplinary areas of physical, analytical and environmental chemistry of aerosols focused on the following topics: 1) Chemical Composition and Physicochemical Properties of Aerosols, 2) Heterogeneous chemistry of aerosols and cloud droplets, 3) Frontiers in Aerosol Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy.
