This symposium will focus on the preparation, characterization, and application of carbon nanotubes and related nano-carbon materials such as fullerenes and graphene. Papers are invited in the following areas: (1) New developments in methods for growth, dispersion, and chemical functionalization and processing; (2) Characterization by spectroscopic techniques such as Raman scattering, photoluminescence, Rayleigh scattering, as well as microscopic techniques such as electron and scanning probe microscopies; (3) Purification and structural separation of nano-carbon materials by density-gradient centrifugation, chromatography, dielectrophoresis, and chemical approaches; (4) Applications of nano-carbon materials in biology, medicine, electronics, solar energy harvesting, advanced materials, etc.
